Our Rector, the Rev. Canon Albert Snelgrove, arrived in Rothesay, February 1, 2007.  Born in Nova Scotia, he did his arts degree at Mount Allison University and his theological degree at Wycliffe College, University of Toronto.  He was ordained Deacon in 1982 and Priest in 1983.  He has served as Assistant Curate in the Parish of Fredericton and Rector of the Parishes Salisbury-Havelock and Riverview.  He was made a Canon of Christ Church Cathedral, Fredericton, in 2002.

He is married to Wandlyn (Crowther) and has three sons: James and Patrick are both in University and Matthew is in High School.

He has served as Diocesan Chaplain to the Mothers’ Union; been a member of the Board of Camp Medley; Regional Dean of Shediac; member of Diocesan Council; and a Vocational Chaplain of the Diocese for many years, with responsibility for summer ministry internships.

Along with Wandlyn, they led a youth team on a summer mission experience in the Diocese of Honduras in 1986.  He has twice been elected to Provincial Synod and twice to General Synod.  

Presently he is also interim Chaplain at Rothesay Netherwood School.


His interests include singing, history, reading, bridge and tennis.
