Damascus Road was founded by George Urquhart in 2003, out of a desire to sing and play nontraditional Christian music. Since
then the group
has performed in church, a few benefit concerts and fund raisers and various, usually church-related, functions.

The group's repertoire is very diversified, singing traditional and nontraditional hymns, country music, folk, early rock and roll
and sometimes a little gospel ...
With over 200 songs to pick from, a selection can be chosen for most any occasion.

The group has also been St. Paul's Church choir on occasions, like the extra services at Christmas and Easter and even helping
out at a funeral for a friend.

Over the years various members have come and gone, like George, Hadley Wood, Joanne Sharpe. Damascus Road has also had
many guest singers and musicians joining them -- truly an opportunity to share our musical talents with others and have a lot of fun
doing it.

Presently the group members are Charles Willet, Dale Cook and Ted and Beth Sayre.  New members are always welcome, talent is
not a prerequisite -- the desire to sing and have fun is. The group is continuing to learn new more challenging pieces of music and have
discussed recording a selection of Christmas music and other hymns not typically heard at Church.
